#MetroDiary 20: Duniya wale pyar ke dushman haay haay!!

In Delhi Metro I have often seen young boys and girls standing near the customer service window. When everyone will go and queue up to pass barriers at the end station, with the help of their tokens or metro card, they go straight to the customer service window to pay extra. ðŸ˜®
I used to think there was some problem with their token and they would probably argue against the extra money being charged but I saw them paying silently. It only struck me later that I have seen some of these youngsters pulling each other back in the same train that they had just de-boarded from. So these youngsters in the customer service queue had basically overstayed in the metro system. ðŸ™‚ They were then paying a little extra for the lovely time they had together. It is lovely anywhere when you are with the love of your life. Be it a crowded, sweaty metro or a three wheeler in a busy road. That is your heaven ðŸ™‚
Rs 10/ hour is not that much of a price to pay for that beatiful time you see! and more than a lakh commuters agree to pay that every month since it was introduced in July. I would love to believe a large number of them overstay, because they want to ðŸ™‚

What a lovely way to celebrate one’s journey together! Travelling back and forth in the metro trains. Standing as the world passes you by. Going through the dark tunnels together with surety of light at the end. Creating your own world in the world full of people. Touching fingers, whispering in ears, looking at the same phone/photos and catching the last glimpse before going back to the same old mundane world; metro-lovers are your typical young Indian lovers. Recently I saw a couple steal a kiss at the busiest of the stations, but that is rare. Still very rare...
I rather find them sitting at the platforms where train after train pass them by much alike the passengers in thousands. They can not care less!
I have not seen anyone troubling them except when they try to sit in the space between the women’s compartment and the general compartment. They try to sit on the “right” side of the demarcation to not to get to the wrong side of the administration but even then people come and ask them to get up. In this love-less city full of hate, can we let love beget love? And let them talk through thousand voices… After all… ishq ki dastan hai pyare..apni apni zuban hai pyare… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYR-uLW68xA
